Okay, we know you don’t want to sit through reams of company history with dates, credentials and the fact that Nathan won a swimming cup in Grade 5. (He didn’t but even if he did it would still be irrelevant.) So here’s the précised version of Grid through the ages.
Grid Worldwide Branding and Design was founded in 2005 by Nathan Reddy, one of South Africa’s most respected design specialists. (If you want to know more about him, Google him, at last count there were 15 900 references there.)
In 2005, Ashantha Armogam joined as partner and MD. Her mission was to solidify the business model and establish a footprint for Grid in South Africa and abroad. At the time it was a subsidiary of TBWA but in 2006 the duo undertook the buy-out of TBWA’s 51% shareholding and the new Grid was born.
The shareholders of Grid are Nathan Reddy, Ashantha Armogam, David Cohen, Paul Hinch and Shelley Atkinson. All are involved in the company on a daily basis (none of this management from a Cape wine farm nonsense) and, with the team, have created the leading South African design and branding agency.
